Clinical Psychology Practice:

Dr. Heaven has maintained an active private practice in North and West Vancouver over the past 20 years. She has provided assessment, therapy and intervention planning for children birth to 19 years of age and their families, with a focus on learning and diagnostic assessments and cognitive behaviour therapy for a range of children’s concerns and presenting conditions. She has also provided services through ABLE Developmental Clinic in West Vancouver.

Dr. Heaven has held clinical leadership, supervision, and consulting positions at Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, and Children’s Hospital of BC and the Child and Adolescent Program with North Shore Health in North Vancouver, and Chedoke-McMaster Hospitals in Hamilton, Ontario. She has provided consultation regarding psychological matters to a variety of organizations, including the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Queen Alexandra Centre for Children’s Health in Victoria, BC and Woodview Children’s Services in Ontario.


Academic Positions: Teaching, Lecturing, and Clinical Supervision:

Dr. Heaven has held clinical academic positions at the University of British Columbia, in the Department of Psychiatry, and Clinical Adjunct position in the Department of Clinical Psychology, as well as a clinical associate position at Simon Fraser University, Department of Psychology. She also has held a clinical assistant professor position at McMaster University as well as lecturer positions at UBC and McMaster.
